Keith Williamson at Sitges
Keith Williamson at Sitges is a portrait of my friend standing on the rocks near Balmins beach in Sitges, Catalonia, Spain. It's painted on a tiny wood panel. It was very difficult to photograph because of its small size, but in person it looks quite beautiful and actually is reminiscent of Renaissance paintings due to the color glazes over grisaille. The brush strokes are fairly fine, so not quite neo-impressionist.
I like the solidity of wood panel, but it's hard to completely cover the wood grains, even with several coats of gesso. But overall the size of this panel helped make it a little jewel!
