The Egyptian Room at the Galleria Borghese
I managed to sneak in a few shots of this early testament to Egyptomania - the Egyptian Room at the Galleria Borghese in Rome. Aside from symmetrically laid - and therefore nonsensical - hieroglyphs decorating the walls, and Egyptian style ornamental architecture, there are fascinating Baroque depictions of Greco-Romanized Egyptian gods painted in frescoes on the ceiling.
