Huge Tomb of John Urpeth Rastrick
I don't know how this appears in the photographs I took of it, but it is monumentally impressive in person.
What is most striking about this tomb is how it is a testimony to the importance placed on railroads and their construction at the time when John Urpeth Rastrick died in 1856.
I imagine that the magnitude of Rastrick's death in that era might be comparable to the death of a tech giant such as Steve Jobs in our own time.
