The Church of Saint Mary and All Saints in Chesterfield, England, UK with its crooked spire

The Church of Saint Mary and All Saints in Chesterfield, England, UK has a very gothic spire made of lead which has melted over the centuries rendering it crooked. It was built in 1362. Its crookedness has long been considered the work of the Devil. It is the most gothic thing I've ever seen!

The crooked spire or steeple rises high up above the town - and seems much larger in person than it appears in photographs. It hovers between being sinister and comical. It is not quite threatening -- but definitely strange and otherworldly.

Despite its bizarre aspect, it left me with a positive feeling.
